With our very first Performance PT Level 3 Certification nearing towards the end of next week, both myself and Clean Health Fitness Institute founder Daine McDonald are thrilled to present what will be our greatest showcasing to date.
The level 3 is going to be the real deal. While in the Level 1 we cover all the fundamentals, and in the Level 2 we equip you lots of tools to expand your knowledge and diversity as a trainer, in the Level 3 we will focus specifically on the exact methods we use with ourselves and our top clients to achieve national and international level success with strength athletes and physique competitors.
Many of our personal trainers in our Sydney CBD and Chatswood gym’s have been privy to this education but now for the first time we are teaching it to the greater fitness industry as a whole. The Level 3 is for those who are not just content with getting average Joe into shape, but want to be able to achieve high level transformations, world record breaking performances, and boost their profile in the fitness industry. - Learn How to Periodise Long Term for Physique and Strength Development
When dealing with high level athletes who are near the ceiling of their genetic potential and/or they are preparing to peak for an event you can’t rely on planning out their program one or even 3 months at a time.
High-level athletes need a high level of stress to force adaptation. This needs to be balanced effectively with periods of rejuvenation and recovery. This is important for long-term progression and preventing injury.
Especially for natural athletes this means planning out their training cycle long ahead of time and adapting accordingly by auto-regulating the training stress on a day today and week-to-week basis.
This is part science and part art that comes from years of experience. We will share with you the mistakes we have made, the successes we have had, and the lessons we have learned that have allowed us to overtime refine our systems and methods that have worked with athletes all the way up to Olympic medalist level, as seen in the video below.
In fact I have come up with my own periodization model that I have been implementing with myself and some of my top clients over the last 6 months that enabled me to get in the best shape of my career and win the ANB Oceania International, which I am very excited to present and share for the very first time.

Getting someone in shape or getting them strong is one thing. Getting them to peak or be at their absolute best on a given day is another. Here we will teach you how to be peak properly for physique and strength/athletic events. Peaking correctly can be the difference between first place and last place.
Traditional peaking methods for physique competitors are not only dangerous but also highly ineffective. They are either based on flawed theories, principles that have no scientific basis, erroneous interpretations of physiological laws, or are only applicable for assisted athletes.
Trust me I have worked with some of the top physique coaches in the world and have tried every peaking method under the sun. Most have very limited applicability for natural athletes and you end up looking worse or the same at best.

The difference was partly due to using traditional vs my modified peaking approach, which is based on real scientific principles not pseudo-science.

Personal trainers who have completed their certification with us with will get immediate industry recognition not only in that they have learned from some of the biggest names in the industry but also that they can actually produce results in the real world.
As part of the completion of their course students will need to present case studies where they have coached an athlete to national level. In order to be certified students will also need to meet a body composition and strength goal, which means that actually walk the walk.
