Level 1 – The Science Of Biochemical Individuality

Level 1 will focus entirely on laboratory testing with day one covering tests like blood chemistry’s, amino acids, organic acids, hormones, and environmental testing. Day two will be all about case studies covering the gamut of health concerns as well as examples of high-performance athletes. Day three will summarize everything that was discussed along with lectures on improving cognitive function and the effect of toxicity on health.
Level 2 – The Science Of Biochemical Individuality

Level 2 requires attendance at the Level 1 class. It will cover topics such as sports nutrition, combining lab tests to uncover more information and biochemically individualized plans for clients, appropriate use of genetics testing, understanding CYP metabolic pathways and their implications for health, fitness and strength training, the latest on the effects of environmental toxicity on health, and the history of nutrition and functional medicine and what the future looks like for the field and its implications.

1) Mark Schauss, DBA
Mark Schauss, MBA, DBA is an internationally acclaimed lecturer on the effects of environmental toxicity on human health, cognitive issues in human health, the use of laboratory testing and how to interpret the results in a clinically relevant manner.
While researching in these fields for the past two decades, he has gained a comprehensive insight into a range of neurological disorders including epilepsy, autism, ADHD, and neurodegenerative diseases as well as an array of other health problems.
He also helped recover his daughter Tasya from a progressive form of epilepsy through the knowledge he gained in his 30 years of research. Mark Schauss is currently the President of Lab Interpretation LLC based in Reno, Nevada, Research. Dr. Schauss has lectured on the subject of laboratory testing, brain function and environmental health issues in North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
2) Dr Luke R Bucci, PhD, CCN, C (ASCP), CNS
As Former Vice President of Research for Schiff® Nutrition International (formerly Weider Nutrition International), Luke R. Bucci, Ph.D. headed a staff of doctoral and master’s degreed professionals, both internal and outside expert consultants.
Dr Bucci graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (Biochemistry and Cell Biology), from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, in 1983. A post-doctoral appointment to the Department of Radiotherapy at M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute (University of Texas System Cancer Center) followed, where Dr. Bucci studied the effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on normal animal and human tissues.
Prior to joining Schiff in 1995, Dr. Bucci served as Director of Science and Quality at SpectraCell Laboratories Inc., in Houston, where he specialized in functional nutrient assessments. While working there, Dr. Bucci developed Spectrox, the first patented, commercially available test for total antioxidant function. Preceding SpectraCell Laboratories, Dr. Bucci formed InnerPath Nutrition, a clinical nutrition, nutritional consulting and educational company, which he still owns and directs.
Dr. Bucci holds several patents and patent applications on clinical laboratory testing methods and dietary supplements.
As a recognized author and lecturer, Dr. Bucci has written four texts, eleven book chapters, 30 peer-reviewed research journal articles, 37 abstracts, more than 100 technical journal articles, and has presented more than 100 invited lectures and discussions on a variety of topics. Dr. Bucci’s books include Nutrients as Ergogenic Aids in Sports and Exercise (CRC Press, 1993), Nutrition Applied to Injury Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine (CRC Press, 1994), Pain Free: The Definitive Guide to Healing Arthritis, Low-Back Pain, and Sports Injuries Through Nutrition and Supplements (The Summit Group, 1995), and Healing Arthritis the Natural Way (The Summit Group, 1997; Barnes & Noble, 2008). In addition, he serves as the Chief Editor for Journal of Applied Nutrition.
Dr. Bucci has been awarded the Rosalie B. Hite Memorial Fellowship Merit Award for Outstanding Research in 1983 and the Certified Clinical Nutritionist of the Year Award from the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists (IAACN) in 1994. Dr. Bucci was named Employee of the Year for Weider Nutrition International in 1999.
Dr. Bucci serves as Director of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board. Dr. Bucci is a National Certification Exam Writer for the IAACN. Dr. Bucci currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Dr. Bucci is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist, a Certified Nutrition Specialist and a Certified Chemist in Medical Technology, reflecting his major interests in nutrition and clinical laboratories.
Dr. Bucci’s professional affiliations include the American Society of Clinical Pathology, International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists, American College of Nutrition and the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI).
3) Dr Kaayla Daniel, PhD
Dr Daniel is known as The Naughty Nutritionist because of her ability to outrageously and humorously debunks nutritional myths. She is vice president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, a member of the board of directors of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund and received the Weston A. Price Foundation’s Integrity in Science Award in 2005.
Dr Daniel is author of The Whole Soy Story: The Dark Side of America’s Favorite Health Food (New Trends, 2005) and has made numerous media appearances, including the Dr. Oz Show and PBS Healing Quest.
