Goal: Fat Loss & Then Fitness Model
I’ve always been an active person, gym has always been really important to me it seems I’m always in a rush to get to the gym on time. I was mainly doing Cardio work outs at this stage.
On finding out that I was suffering from Hyperthyroidism cardio training was no longer going to be the best option for me. I made contact with Daine McDonald from Clean Health who suggested that I see Clint Sellen, one of Clean Health’s senior coaches. I first meet Clint after doing my normal Cardio workout, he was suggesting that I give weight training a go which wasn’t really convincing me to do a PT session with him.
However, when I then explained to him that I suffering from hyperthyroidism and really want to workout and lose 2-3% fat but not lose weight I was amazed with his knowledge. I really didn’t expect Clint to understand my condition so well after just an hour consultation, so I decided to give personal training with him a go.
I new this was going to be the beginning of a new journey for me as all Cardio was banned, and anyone who knows me know I love Cardio more than anything!!!! I was 47kg and 21% body fat, I was a skinny fat girl!
I told Clint that I like to workout hard but the training session with Clint made me sweat more than I have ever done before, I couldn’t even do a Cardio session after the PT session with Clint. When I keep putting on weight I started to get paranoid and being a lady I had cry on a scale a couple of times.
Clint explained to me that I was losing body fat and gaining muscle mass, I could believe it but my waist and suit paints are getting smaller while I was gaining weight. From June to October this year I have gained 5kg lean muscle mass and lost 8% body fat.
I still have a great female figure and manage my Hyperthyroidism with supplementation and nutrition while doing weight training. I really like the way Clint thinks about your total health not just PT training but also diet and life style. I also really liked that he listen to what I wanted and made weight training fun and got me a great body shape as a result.
For somebody who has a health back ground and having personally studied nutrition and medical science, I really like the way Clint guided me with his knowledge it was great to be trained by someone so good. Thanks so much for changing me!!!!
Suzy competed for the first time and placed 3rd in INBA Sydney Bikini titles then 2 weeks later she placed 3rd in the 2012 ANB Australian Championships Fitness Model 30+ category in only her second competition!
